Mandatory Identity Verification from 18 November 2025
From 18 November 2025, Companies House will require all company directors, People with Significant Control (PSCs), and anyone registering a new company to verify their identity as part of the reforms introduced under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023.
This change applies to:
- ✅ New directors & PSCs – must verify before appointment or incorporation
- ✅ Existing directors & PSCs – must verify before their next confirmation statement after this date
- ✅ Anyone forming a new company – must be verified before registration
